Docparser vs. Rossum Features
While both Docparser and Rossum automate the data capture process, they employ very different strategies resulting in some distinctions between the two. Firstly, the method of extraction. Rossum uses artificial intelligence to capture and extract data from predefined fields while allowing users to add custom fields. While this method works, it also has its limitations making Docparser the preferred Rossum alternative.
Docparser, on the other hand, uses a template-based method that is incredibly more flexible. Docparser comes with a wide range of common use-case parsing presets to allow users to get up and running in very little time. If you can’t find a preset that’s right for you, you can easily add custom parsing rules that are 100% tailored to your needs. What this ultimately boils down to is flexibility. Docparser allows you to extract data from a far more comprehensive range of document types.
Another limitation of Rossum is its export options. Rossum users are limited to API exports only. While API exports can be incredibly powerful, it often means that you would need a developer to get you up and running. Docparser allows you to connect to hundreds of cloud applications through their integration partners. If you would like the extra flexibility of an API export, Docparser provides that as well.
While both Rossum and Docparser allow users to extract text and table data, Docparser allows users to extract data from bar codes, QR codes, checkboxes, and radio buttons.
Finally, let’s talk about pricing. Docparser offers a simple pricing format ranging from $39/month to $149/month for the Business Plan. There are no surprising fees. Rossum pricing isn’t public and is only available upon request.

The ability to send documents with different layouts, and for Docparser to identify which layout is in use in order to parse accordingly. This helped greatly when a client changed the layout of their standard document without telling us!

While the built-in parsing rules are straightforward, sometimes we receive a document format that can be a challenge to set up rules. When asking for help, the support team is always quick to respond, providing guidance/samples on the best approach.
